Windsor

The Royal Borough of Windsor is set on the magnificent banks of the River Thames which forms its boundary with Eton and only 30 miles west of London. It is a great place to relax and discover the city’s long and colorful history.

Image The choice of things to see and do in Windsor is wide and varied. With numerous attractions including Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor, the Borough offers wonderful opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling, water-based activities and horse riding. From going for a boat trip on the Thames and touring the town on an open-top bus to a horse-drawn carriage ride in Windsor Great Park, there is something for everyone.

Image Windsor Castle is the largest occupied castle in the world and is one of three official residences of the Queen. It has been both a royal palace and a fortress since the time of William the Conqueror. Today Windsor Castle and the Tower of London are the only fortresses that remain. The castle is without a doubt an awesome site where you can not only visit the grounds see the changing of the guards but visit state rooms and a wealth of other treasures. The straight path that links Windsor Castle with Snow Hill in Windsor Great Park is known as The Long Walk. From the Castle gate to the foot of the statue of King George II (The Copper Horse) the long walk measures 2.64 miles in length.

Whatever it is you are interested in Windsor offers something for everyone!
