Our Location
Until early 2008 myguideBritain was located in rural south Wales before the office was re-located to the thriving commercial centre of Glasgow , Scotland. Located on the banks of the river Clyde, Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and in recent years has become one of Scotland' major tourist hubs. Home to diverse architecture from the grand Victorian and Georgian statues and facaded buildings of George Square through to modern developments like the “armadillo” theatre and Science centre Glasgow has always been on the cutting edge. Glasgow was Europe's “City of Culture” in 1990 and won its bid to host the Commonwealth games in 2014. The city's central location and excellent communication networks allow you to travel all over Scotland, the north of England and even be in London in a matter of hours.
Whilst our main office is in Scotland, UK, myguideBritain also has a base in Boston, MA, USA, bridging the time difference and offering you the peace-of-mind of a local contact in the US. Our Boston office has strong ties with the UK and Ireland and allows for easy communication between our UK and US operations.

Business History
myguideBritain's roots lie with the Irish company myguideIreland, which was established in 1998 as 12 Travel by three Irish friends. Having lived and studies in Philadelphia, US for 4 years they realised the potential for an internet based travel company to help foreign travelers visit their beloved Ireland. On Sept 4th 1998 a limited company was formed.
In 2004 myguideIreland opened an office located in Wales, UK, recruited a team of local experts with the same passion for England, Scotland and Wales as the 3 friends shared for Ireland and myguideBritain was born. myguideBritain used the same tried and tested concept of selling customized vacations to the UK and is now in its fourth successful year of operations.
In 2007 the myguideTravel company was formed as the parent company of myguideBritain and myguideIreland and the company also merged with Crystal Travel & Tours. Based in Boston, MA Crystal Travel had been providing travel between the US and the British Isles since 1985. As a result of the merge myguideBritain now also has an office in Boston expanding the opening hours of the company and enhancing the service we offer to our Guests.
At the beginning of 2008 myguideBritain combined forces with another UK based tour-operator, Scotsell Holidays who specialized in tours of the Scottish Isles. Their combined offices now based in Glasgow Scotland continue to offer an unrivaled product base and service to visitors to England, Scotland and Wales from all over Europe, the US and Canada.
