Hi Darryl, We're home now, safe and sound, and I just wanted to thank you for a superb job and a wonderful holiday. I have memories I've now made with my daughter and her friends which are forever engraved on my heart. Trafalgar took very good care of us, and I particularly appreciated the extra attention given to the needs of three teenagers! You organized everything beautifully, and I am very grateful. I will definitely travel with you again, and I will be happy to recommend MyGuideBritain and Trafalgar to my friends.
With my best,
Shelley Burchfield, SC, Jul 2008
Hi Darryl, Our trip was great. You were so right about the Burns Hotel. The location was perfect and we took the rooms as they were - because staying in a Victorian-era hotel was so cool! The breakfasts were good and the staff was great. We became especially fond of the pub at the corner - The Blackbird. The BEST tip of all was in the packet you sent - getting the OYSTER cards was the best way to see London.
Our guided trip through Oxford and into the Cotswolds was interesting - we were the only two people on the trip. I think for future guests, someone should let the few who booked know ahead of time if they are the only ones going. However, our guide, Martin Turner, was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed several meals with him and had a more "custom" itinerary. I am already dreaming of a trip to Wales and Scotland for 2010 (as long as the dollar rebounds a bit.)
Thanks again for your help. I will be calling again!
Karen Bartleson, Colorado, Jul 2008
I wanted to say thanks for our perfect vacation. We really enjoyed Scotland, and it was hard to leave! All the arrangements were great, and we had no problems at all. We saw some awesome castles (Doune made me laugh), enjoyed spectacular scenery, and toured The Glenlivet (my husband’s favorite) distillery.
Anyway, thank you so much!
Susan Harbin, GA, Jul 2008
Pat Phelan, we wanted to e-mail to thank you so much for all the arrangements you made for us for our trip to England and Scotland. The trip was great, and I was so happy with the hotels and meals at each stop, that I looked so forward to what awaited us each time. We were upgraded at one manor house to the Bridal Suite (and we were celebrating our 27th anniversary this year)! Another upgrade in Edinburgh to a four poster bedroom! It was great! The British Heritage Pass was really worth it, we used it so many times. The information packet and tips were very helpful and everything was laid out in such an organized manner that our trip went so smoothly. One great place to have tea in Bath is Hand's Tea Room. They spoiled us with so much food and attention, and it was half the cost of the Pump Room at the Roman Baths. Thank you again for all you did, and we hope to come back again and see all we missed! Darryl,Thanks for the email. I will write a more detailed one later to tell of all the fun we had ...but please know the trip was outstanding and even our stay at The Tower in Creiff will be a fun memory for a life time! I hope to book again with you soon...you have unleashed my need to travel and I could move to Scotland tomorrow! Our driver David Brookman could not have been more perfect. He really added to our vacation experience. Thank you so much for booking us in to The Roxburgh in Edinburgh for the last 2 nights. It was wonderful and a perfect way to end our trip. The kids loved having a pool to swim in.....they would ask at every stop if there was a pool, so they were delighted to be able to play in the pool at Edinburgh. We had a fantastic time and I will write more later and send pictures.
Thank you for all you wonderful help!
Steve and Barbara McGrath, GA, Jun 2008
Darryl thanks for the inquiry about the trip you planned for us. We had an overall great trip with most all things turning out as expected or better. The first night in Ireland we thought that would not be the case as we checked in the motel in the midst of total mayhem. The hotel sponsors a car race which was that day. We survived it and the balance of the trip in Ireland went without a glitch. The Scotland part of the trip went well and all fell into place as you had planned. Our memories will include many Irish and Scottish people that were very friendly and helped make our trip memorable. We thank you for your assistance in helping us put this together and would look forward to utilizing you in the future, maybe in 2009. Thanks again and
have a good day.

Dear Patrick Tierney,
Thank you so much for all the help you have been - the family had a great time! The hotel accommodations were top-notch (at least for us - we usually stay at the motel 6!) and picking up/dropping off the rental car was easy. You may want to consider sending a CD of city and motorway maps the traveler can print off before leaving on vacation. We got lost more than once and a good city map would have saved us some complaining (but even getting lost is now part of the wonderful memories). I can highly recommend your service to my friends (they know me for usually booking all the details myself) and I look forward to working with you again in the future. Did I happen to mention that this took place over my husband's birthday? (4 June) He helped by bringing the good weather with us and, as you say, a bit of Irish luck from you.
Sherri Buchanan, MS, Jun 2008
Patrick,I just wanted to get back with you to say that we had an fantastic time. All the B & Bs were excellent in Ireland. The hotels were wonderful and all the passess worked out great. We even had the particaption of the weather. It only rained on us one day. Thanks so much for all your work. You did a fabulous job.
Lisa Horton, MD, Jun 2008
You beat me to the email - I was going to send you one later today. If you arranged for the weather in addition to the lodging, thanks very much. This trip was the finest with regards to weather of the seven trips I have made to Scotland.
We had a lovely time. All of the rooms were quite acceptable. Lochardil House was quite lovely and much more accessible to downtown Inverness than I had expected. We walked into town without any trouble (although we might walk a bit more than most folks do). They showed our reservation as being in August but got us settled in rooms within 10 minutes and I assume they cleared it up with you in the morning.
I'll be happy to forward some pictures in a day or two, once I have downloaded them. I took over 1500 on the trip - the result of lots of good weather.
I'm sure we'll be in touch about our next trip. We tend to go over every three or four years.
Thanks so much for your help - we had a lovely time.
Nancy and Mike Menza, SC, May 2008
Dear Darryl: We’ve been back just about a week and thought we’d let you know how everything went. We know that Laura Davies is no longer with your office, but we appreciate the planning she did and your follow up with to make our trip a success. It was all we hoped for. We were able to see and do everything we had planned for so long. The hotels in Scotland; The Lochardil House, The Invercarse and especially the Roxburghe were all wonderful, each in their own way. The Lochardil House was very pretty, had a friendly staff and wonderful food, the Invercarse was comfortable and also had a nice restaurant and the Roxburghe, besides being in a great location in Edinburgh had a very attentive staff and the most well appointed room on our trip. The “Lodge” in the Cotswolds was just what we expected from a vacation cottage and was centrally located to most of the places we wanted to visit. We enjoyed London and Bath a lot. On the whole, the trip was fantastic and we would love to visit both London and Scotland again. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company to anyone trying to plan a trip to the UK because even with the internet it’s difficult to put together an itinerary to an unfamiliar place. Your office was always responsive and easy to work with and we appreciated your continued assistance.
Thom and Carol Herrmann, Ontario, Canada, May 2008.
The trip was fantastic, Darryl! Absolutely no hitches - and wonderfully engaging people all along the way. The train was ready and waiting, as was our car in Edinburgh. We dropped the car off at Europcar at Heathrow and received a bus ride to the terminal. Even the weather was co-operating: The surprise of 27 degrees in London for our first 3 days was a bit challenging, but from there on, lovely. On the last day, we went to Kew Gardens just as the one day of rain pulled up its boots and sent the sun out, and then the rain returned after we were safe and dry in our hotel on the Thames. The rain continued the next morning, but we were off and away after splashing our way to Heathrow. Thom got better and better as the trip progressed, and many were the palms crossed with silver gladly as they helped us up to our rooms with our bags. We certainly have a good idea of what the UK is all about now, and we have a number of places that we will want to visit in more depth, especially Grassmere and the Lake District. The Swan Hotel is amazing for its food, and the room was in a lovely quiet section of the hotel. We have been totally happy with the services of My Britain and would go with the group again, and we are recommending it to our friends.
Ralph and Lin LaSalle, PA, May 2008
I wanted to send you a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our self drive vacation thru the West Coast and Shakespeare country. You did a great job planning our customized vacation and everything went as planned. All the hotels except one were to our liking and driving thru England gave us the freedom to explore on our own and gave us the flexibility to see things the average tourist never sees. We stopped in little country Inns and towns that made the trip memorable. Our 9 day trip included over 900 miles on some adventurous country roads. Tintagel Castle, Stonehenge, Minack Theater near Lands End, Bath and Stratford will always be fond memories. The Great British Heritage Pass was worth the money. However, the Vauxhall we rented was a little on the large size but since it was a diesel we saved on fuel cost. Thanks again for arranging this wonderful English experience.

I want to applaud and profoundly thank all of you at My Guide Britain for creating such a truly, over the top, totally memorable vacation my mom and I took in May of 2007. It was our first time traveling to Scotland so we put ourselves totally into your hands and it just couldn't have been better. The hotels were all first class. The car was superb and the entire route was a total blast. It was also well within our budget. We landed in Edinburgh for 3 nights and it was so beautiful. If you love old architecture, cobblestone streets, lots of sweet pubs and so much rich history it is not to be missed. We visited Edinburgh castle, museums, pubs, shops. We took that travel bus which I highly recommend that takes you all over the city. You can get on and off when you want. Then we drove up to Aberdeen (2 1/2 hours) and stopped in St. Andrews. A very nice college town with lots of great shops and restaurants and of course the famous golf course. Then to Aberdeen but we didn't leave ourselves too much time. Very beautiful though. Then over to Inverness. Another 2 1/2 hour drive but the MOST GORGEOUS OF THE TRIP. I think it was the A9. absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful. Ever few feet is a post card. Inverness was gorgeous also and so much fun. Right on a canal. Visited a castle, (sorry forget the name) museum and all over town. We stayed at the Glen Mohr and the food was excellent and the accommodations very nice. The pub at the Glen Mohr is NOT TO BE MISSED I forget the name. A CLASSIC, GORGEOUS SCOTTISH PUB. Then off to Fort Williams very rural and beautiful. Saw so many little lambs walking in the streets. We took a boat ride on Lochness. Nothing special. You have the option to stop off and visit the remains of a very old castle. We didn't opt. Were only here one night. Would stay longer again. Then drove down to Stirling. Loved Stirling. Visitied the William Wallace Museum a must and Stirling Castle, another must. Such a quant historical town, cobblestone streets, so much character. gorgeous. Then we drove back to Edinburgh only 1/2 hour away to fly back home. I wouldn't have changed a thing except staying even longer. So far the best vacation we have ever taken. Above all of the rich, historical, glamorous cities and countryside it was the Scottish people that made our trip so memorable. There is such a deep passion and reverence that these people have for their culture. You understand very quickly why William Wallace is still talked about, why a museum was erected in his name, why Mel Gibson made such a potent historical account of his life and what he accomplished. They are a true, genuinely kind and very loving people. A huge THANK YOU to My Guide Britain for giving us such spectacular memories!
John and Vannessa Beardsley - November 2007
Hello Juliana, I am responding to an email you sent my husband, asking for feedback on our recent vacation that you helped us with. I wanted to thank you personally for helping us create such a memorable, easy vacation for our 5th anniversary. It went off without a hitch because of your attention to detail. We loved all of the places you suggested, which we might otherwise never have stopped to see. I especially appreciate the advice to pre-buy the attraction pass, which saved us a lot of money along the way! We came away with wonderful memories of Great Britain that will last a lifetime. Thank you again.
Cheers! Vanessa Beardsley
Dan and Betty Wallace - November 2007
Debs.... Just a note to say thank you for providing our travel in Scotland. I am sorry for not getting this to you after I called last month. However, We enjoyed the time in that area of Scotland very, very much. The lodging was excellent and the information you provided for us was great. I'm very glad you urged us to have the
auto you provided for us , it was comfortable and very easy to drive. thanks. The only area I'm not sure about was the British Heritage Passes. We did not get to some of the places we thought we would get to . It took us longer to drive to some of the areas than we planned. But still it was a great trip and we enjoyed it very much.
I'm still talking about it to my friends and we have shared our pictures with several of our friends and relatives again thanks very much for your work on our trip. Our love and blessings to you and yours. Dan and Betty Wallace in Michigan - USA
Bruce Harrington - November 2007
Greetings. We had an excellent trip. Accomodations, car, golf, weather, etc., were all wonderful. We had a little trouble with directions - finding the rental car return at Heathrow at 6am Sunday in a drizzle. I think next time I'll ask for suggestions relative to maps. Now if you can only do something about the exchange rate...
Blessings to all. Much appreciated. We'll be in touch again as we set up next year's trip. In His grace, Bruce Harrington
Judy & John Nicholson - November 2007
John and I returned from our trip to Ireland and Scotland last week. We had a great time. Our accommodations were quite different from each other but wonderfully suitable. The small Pembroke Townhouse in Dublin ( perfect location), to the huge Europa in downtown Belfast, to the spreading Deer Park Resort in Howth, and the very formal but lovely Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh. Thank you for arranging everything. Even the car rental was successful (thank goodness we did not try it in the big cities). Airplane travel, such as it is, is not pleasant but we had no mishaps. Thank you for all your patience and help.
Judy and John Nicholson
Amy Cowles - November 2007
Besides the unfortunate circumstances of my illness, our vacation went w/out a hitch. The tube was easy to use as was the railway from London to the north. Our hotels were all very accomodating and comfortable. In fact, my favourite was most definately the hotel in York, Dean Court, I believe. It was simply wonderful!
You were also very helpful in helping us brainstorm on how to avoid a long day of traveling, since it wouldn't have been pleasant for me due to my condition. The Ryan Air flight saved us lots of time and headaches.
Thanks again for all your feedback and help!
Sincerely, Amy Cowles
Terry Shears - October 2007
Hi Laura - We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the UK. Driving in the West Country, in a rather large Vauxhall (the agreement said it would be a Volkswagen Golf) was more than a little intimidating. We're so glad you suggested Bath. We really enjoyed it. All of the places we stayed were quite nice, both hotels and B & Bs. The farm in Paul was quite remote, but very interesting. The only accommodation I might have changed would have been the hotel near Gatwick on our last night. Very institutional, although the location was good. All in all, though, you did a wonderful job and I would certainly recommend your organization in the future. Cheers. Terry Shears
Susan & Ronald Stuckey - October 2007
I just logged on to thank you, thank you!!!! What a wonderful vacation! Your planning was perfect. We realized the amount of thought that went into getting us to the right spots at the right time with the needed time to relax tucked in! I have already passed your name along to a friend planning a trip to Ireland. Thank you again, Ron and Susan
Nancy Dupree - October 2007
Just wanted to let you know what a marvelous time we had in your home country as well as inScotland. The people in Ireland were warm and friendly more so than in Scotland. The Scottish were warm after a period
of reservation. The castles were stunning in both places We especially liked to see how the land changed from the coast to inland. It was great to see all the unspoiled scenery with its great beauty. The villages were charming as well. I don't think that I will ever get used to driving on the other side of the road and all those roundabouts especially in Dublin. Very Scarry!! Glad to be back home and we will always have wonderful memories. Thanks
for your help.
Suzanne McGhee - October 2007
I'm finally am back home and have slowly adjusted to the time change. Thank you so very much for working with me on my trip. I had such a good time and I couldn't have been more pleased with your customer service. I hope to return in the coming year or two if the exchange rate is a bit better.
Everything worked out nicely and the hotel and staff were very courteous and helpful not to mention the location was fantastic.
Steve Owen - September 2007
Thanks for your email, I will definitely recommend you and you company to all that are planning to head to the UK and Ireland. We have commented daily how much we miss your part of the world, the scones, the fish and chips, the single malt, the vistas.......heather and most of all the people. You are a much gentler (not really a word) people with a pace of life I envy. It is nice to see people looking you in the eye when you pass and saying good day......and meaning it.
Thanks, again for all your help!
Janice Hurst - September 2007
Just wanted to say thank you for all your arrangements for our trip to Wales and Scotland. We really had an enjoyable time overall. I do want to make you aware of a couple of things that might help you in future reservations.
1. The train was a little much for two women over 55 with luggage. I still think it was the way to see everything in the amount of time we had, but it was a chore to lug the luggage on and off the trains.
2. The hotels in Conwy, Inverness, and Edinburgh were great. Especially the one in Conwy, it was so quaint and exactly what I expected from a UK hotel.
3. The driver in Wales was SUPERB.....I can't say enough good things about the things he did for us and so knowledgeable and personable. Thanks for that one....a lot.
4. I would strongly advise you to book the airport hotel for anyone leaving on a flight before 9 in the morning at Gatwick. We would have had to have gotten up at 3am to have made our flight. The one you finally booked us, served us well and the food in the restaurant was really good.
Thanks again for all your help. We had a great time.
Karen Roche - September 2007
Dear Juliana, Sorry I haven't written to you earlier. We had a wonderful time. You did a great job. We may have done a little to much. But it all worked out. Our favorite hotel was the Groes Inn. I would recomend that to anyone. They were so nice there and the food was out of this world. It was out of town but worth the drive. The Thornberry Castle was unreal and again the staff was great. We ate dinner there and heard the history and enjoyed ourselves. Everthing went pretty good one place wasnt sure about the breakfast. There was one place that I didn't care for so is you want more feed back let me know. I don't know how to send pictures. I dropped my camera the third day. So my kids have most of the pics. Still trying to get them to make me a copy. Thanks again. Karen Roche
Janda Allred - September 2007
We had a wonderful time and the places that you arranged for us to stay are were just great. We really appreciated the printed off material with photos and directions to help get us there. The trip went all too fast - so many things to see and do. It was so beautiful in Scotland and the heather was blooming everywhere. The car we rented worked out super and Chuck was able to drive on the left pretty well. I hope to go back again someday. Thanks for your services and hope to work with you again one day.
Jim Ruiter - September 2007
I never contacted you yet to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip. Thanks for all the work!
The hotels and B+Bs were super and a lot of fun.
Wales is indeed beautiful.
Jim and Sue and the family!
Paul Phillips - August 2007
Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had through your booking. The Paddington Ct was very comfortable, providing a nice roomy newly remodeled room. They offer a computer for guest use, so there's no need to bring your own. The breakfast was excellent, altough they initially thought we were not entitled to it. A block away is an excellent Italian restaurant, the Concordia, which offers weekend entertainment.
Our tour on Backroads could not have been better, despite some adjustments due to the flooded conditions that existed at the time. Our driver June was very professional and amiable and we were very lucky that there was just another couple and us, resulting in a near private tour! The hotel, Holt was also an excellent choice providing very comfortable accomodations and excellent food! Once again thanks for your help and please be good enough to pass on these positive comments to these wonderful providers.
Sincerely, Paul Phillips
Gail Crider - August 2007
Dear Juliana, Thank you for all your help in coordinating our vacation. We had a lovely time! I am sorry not to have met you in person, but we found ourselves near you on a Sunday (and I figured you'd not be working that day ). Thank you for all your help. We had a great family holiday in the UK. Next time, we'll plan on less driving and more time to relax!
Everett Akam - August 2007
Thank you for the follow-up email. Yes, my trip truly was wonderful, both at Jura and at Oxford. Thank you so much for all your invaluable help and at such short notice, too! Without hesitation I will use myguidebritain again and recommend you to friends and colleagues.
In all, the arrangements you made on terribly short notice proved to be ideal. The hotels were well situated and comfortable, the staff at the Glasgow Hotel especially helpful, the hire car perfect, the train service excellent. But you should know that I discovered the entrance to the Bridge End Hotel locked tight at 0630 on my last morning there. Apparently the staff vacate the premises and lock the door at night, and I wanted to pass that on to you. I don't know what would have happened in the event of a fire, but a disaster might have occurred.
Thanks again, Debs.
Diane Bradshaw - August 2007
Thanks Juliana! I appreciate your help with this. Again, if you need a reference I am more than glad to provide one. Everyone was so surprised that I dealt with someone over the Internet that I never met. You are a true professional as well as a real help with anything I asked, like the Tattoo, which was AWESOME!!!!!!
Shaunee Higgins - August 2007
We had a lovely time, and you were so correct to trust the Blue Guides, they were excellent. We were concerned we didn't have "John" for trip but the three guides we did have were wonderful, Andrew, Stephen and Glen. I will use your company again, it was a pleasure.
Martha Roberts - July 2007
We had a fabulous trip, thank you for all your efforts in organizing it! The Heritage Passes were an excellent recommendation and we enjoyed all the site-seeing to the fullest. Each accommodation was of highest quality, with friendly, professional attention - Ty'n Rhos near Caernarfon was our favourite, by far.
We're recommending My Guide Britain highly to friends and family! We look forward to our next trip and will certainly be contacting you when the time comes!
All the best,
Barbara Gibert - July 2007
I wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic vacation in Britain. Your schedules worked perfectly, and returning the car to the airport before leaving for the States, my big worry, couldn't have been easier. It was really good that we upgraded to the larger car. We definitely needed the extra space for luggage. I would like to comment on some of the hotels. The management of the John Howard Hotel in London was excellent. When we arrived, they realized that the triple room assigned to us would not be adequate for three adults, and they provided a room for our daughter at no charge. All of this was at their initiative. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Thornbury Castle was the highlight of all of our hotels. I wish we had planned for two nights there. All in all, it was a wonderful trip. Thank you again for all of your help in planning things. Sincerely,Barbara Gibert
Julie Font - July 2007
Our vacation was really wonderful. I don't know how we got so lucky, but we were never rained on! Of course we expected some wet weather, since we were traveling through the UK, but we managed to avoid it every where we went.
Edinburgh was one of our favorite cities, and the Roxburghe Hotel was really fantastic. The only problem we had here was a lift that was not functioning, but the hotel was kind enough to put us on the first floor so that this would not be an inconvenience. The concierge was wonderful and provided us with all of the help that we needed. We particularly liked the location of the Roxburghe, since it was within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see in Edinburgh.
There were no issues with the rental car from Europcar. We were provided with a new VW 7-passenger van which was absolutely wonderful for our needs. They provided us with maps and directions, and were in general, very helpful.
All of the B&B's we stayed in were very nice. We particularly enjoyed the Lyngrove B&B in Fort William. The rooms were very comfortable, the view fantastic, and the owners were very friendly and helpful to us. It felt to us like we were staying with family! Garfield House in Blairgowrie was nice as well.
The Britrail pass served us well, as we used it to travel between Oxford/Edinburgh/London. We had a day left on the pass, which we used to take the Gatwick Express from London. As I understand it, not all rail passes are good on this Express train, but the Britrail pass is accepted.
Thank you for all of your help in putting this together for us. We really enjoyed Great Britain, and hope to return someday to see those sites that we didn't have time for. I hope that this feedback is helpful to you.
Amanda Michie - July 2007
Dear Juliana,I appreciate what you have done and I would like to thank you and your company for making our vacation a pleasant, affordable and all around great time. It was very convenient to have everything pre-paid and all the hotels were beautiful. We were a little crazy when it came to the driving, but all was well. Scotland is a very beautiful country and we did enjoy our time there. This incident was not at fault of your company and I understand that things happen. I do want to thank you again and wish you well.Regards
Takashi Yagisawa - July 2007
Bianca and I returned home from our vacation very satisfied and would like to thank you for it. We particularly liked our seats at the Globe theatre and the variety of English and Welsh towns you selected for our visits. Our drive between and around these towns was picturesque and enjoyable. We liked driving on extremely narrow country roads and became fond of roundabouts.
Best Wishes,-- Takashi
Mary Haley - July 2007
Darryl, we are back from our trip and I just wanted to let you know it was terrific! Our hotels were perfect! We loved the Inchyra Grange, the Inverness Palace, and the Roxburgh. The Roxburgh gave us an outstanding upgrade!! We had one of the nicest rooms in the hotel for our last two nights. Whole huge picture window and balcony. Thought you might want to thank them or something.3) We purchased the British Heritage pass and it saved us a ton of $$.This was a fabulous trip and you made a big difference in making it so. Your suggestions on itinerary were perfect. Made all the difference. Thank you, Darryl!
Lucia Garcia - July 2007
Hello again from Mexico! I want to thank you for giving me the perfect vacation in England! My mom and I loved to visit the amazing cities! Our favorites were Cambridge, York, Stratford upon Avon and of course.. LONDON! The amazing view from the train, the wonderful landscapes! I loved them!
We had the most incredible vacation in England all with your help! Thanks a lot for the amazing work!
I send you one of my favorites pictures, from Warwick Castle...!
Thanks for everything,
Take care, Lucy
Jerry Vosburgh - July 2007
Thank you for a great trip, memories like these are not soon forgotten. The castles were fantastic, would love to move to Conwy, everyone told me that England was not known for its food, but they were so wrong, all meals were exceptional. Thank you again and hope we will talk again next year to continue with our castle visits...
Milton Pierce - June 2007
My wife and I had the time of our lives in Wales, Cornwall, the Cotswold's, and London. We cannot thank you and your company enough. Everything went without a hitch and was "spot on"!
Jim Stickler - May 2007
I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you that we had a great time on our holiday in the UK. The hotels were comfortable and conveniently located near the train stations. The shows and plays were fantastic. Traveling on the British Rail system was comfortable, pleasant, fast and very punctual.
One unplanned highlight of the trip, we attended two concerts at the Bath Music Festival, the Borodin String Quartet and a performance by Maxim Vengerov.
Thanks again for your assistance.
Andrew Ashton and Family - July 2006
Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in London, hotel compact but quality service and the West End show you booked was superb. The Cotswolds were charming and the scenery incredible as we traveled up through Wales. The castles of north Wales were very impressive and Conwy was a real hidden treasure, thanks for recommending that area. Our highlight really was Thornbury Castle though, a truly unforgettable experience. Thanks again.Peggy and Clifton Stewart, June 2006 Keith,Thanks for contacting me to see how the trip went. The family and I had a fantastic time. We have been hiking in the Highlands, sampling Haggis and some single malts (not before our drives) and even just missed spotting Nessie (so a local assured us). The kids will not forget this vacation in a long time and we are already planning the next trip. Thanks for all your help, and especially for the tip on the Heritage Passes, they saved us time and money. All the best.
Andrew Ashton and Family.
Mike Hyatt - Tennesse, July 2005
We had an absolutely marvelous time. Scotland exceeded our expectations.
The car was excellent. We drove more than 600 miles in six days. In retrospect, this was probably a little too much, but we certainly saw a lot of the country. We even got "off the beaten path" a few times. On the advice of a local at Fort Augustus, we did not take the Skye Bridge. Instead we drove down to see the ancient Dun Telve Broch near Glenelg. We then took the small ferry across to Kylerhea on Skye. These back roads were amazing. We took scores of photographs.
The hotels were excellent we were thoroughly spoiled by the warm hospitality of the Scots.
We definitely hope to return to Great Britain in the future. When we do, I intend to use your services. You planned a great vacation for us with less than a week's advance notice and did a superb job. Thanks for helping to make this one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.
Troy and Valerie Hale, Sunnyvale, Texas
We are back from our trip and had a wonderful time. Thanks for all of your assistance. We will be referring friends to your website and services.
Again, we had a wonderful time and everything went very smooth. We will be using you again when we return, which I hope is soon!
Thanks, Troy and Valerie Hale
Peter Hummel - Ohio, June 2005
Thank you for your email. It's been pretty hectic since our return.
I've just returned from a 4 country - 5 day trip to Europe.
Our trip to Britain was absolutely wonderful. In spite of many years of
anticipation, all of our expectations were exceeded. My wife, daughter
and I thoroughly enjoyed the sites, the history, and the people.

The tour was practically flawless and the experience was one of my best. The Grange Country House was superb. I would highly recommend it to anyone I know. Having general directions proved quite helpful. We found everything in good order.

Our trip was great. All of the hotels were very nice and we enjoyed our stay in them. You were so helpful, making great suggestions and alternative ideas. Falmouth was a wonderful location and the drive down was not difficult. We were able to get everywhere from there. Padstow was an equally nice location. I can't thank you enough for your time and efforts to make our vacation a memorable one. I'll keep you in mind for the future because I will be going back.

Wonderful time! I want to thank you for all that you did for us. Each hotel/B&B was ready and waiting for our arrival. We did quite a lot of stuff, but to do it all required a lot more time. I guess we will just have to go again!!!
We toured Edinburgh Castle, Blair Castle, Inverary Castle (Home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll), Inverness Castle, Kilchurn Castle, and Dunstaffnage Castle. We saw many others from the road, and loved them all. We took a bus tour of Edinburgh and Inverness, which informed us of the rich history and the quaint tales of each town. We took a boat ride on Loch Ness trying to get that Million Dollar picture of Nessie, but, alas, she was hiding. We saw the Wallace Monument and Stirling Bridge, and looked across to beautiful Stirling Castle. We had a nip of whiskey at the Blair Athol distillery and popped into as many pubs for a pint as we could manage. We had dinner the night before in the dungeon all outfitted with suits of armor. Weather was great except for 2 days of rain, but we did everything we wanted to do despite getting wet. During the Discovery Bus Tour in Inverness, the driver taught us the Gay Gordon and we were dancing in the rain beside a 4,000 year old burial ground. How many people can say they've done that!!!
Thanks again for pointing us in the right direction. We had a great time!

Thank you so much for your arrangements. Everything was just perfect, the accommodation just perfect. We will be in touch for when we return to Wales again, both my husband and I loved it.
Thank you so much for all your help.

My vacation was indeed wonderful--so much more than I could possibly have hoped for. If I ever make another trip your way I'll certainly know whom to contact.

It was a most pleasant trip you put together for the 3 of us. We had a very nice time and had a good visit to "get acquainted" with Britain. Our tour manager/driver was simply marvellous. The accommodation, the food and the route were all excellent. Many thanks for all you did for us, and of course, I will be in touch with you when I plan another trip to the UK, hopefully not too far in the future.

I had a wonderful time. Booking with you was very easy. I’d shopped around a bit and you were by far the nicest and friendliest. I will use you again when I return to Britain next summer. Our trip was perfect, my sister and I visited my dad's school, his old house, the church he was baptized in and the family's old fish and chips shop, we hung out in pubs and drank ourselves silly. We have dozens and dozens of family members in London so we never lacked tour guides. My friends already know about your service and I will continue to promote you every chance I get.

Hi Sinead and everyone at myguideBritain,
It was an absolutely great trip! Everything went off without a hitch. The car was great, the B&B's were great, the food was great. I had a really fun time. And I will definitely be back!!!!! Thank you for everything.
Deb Mullen - New York, USA - September 2004
We had a wonderful time and loved every minute of the trip. We covered 1,292 miles in our 10 days but still didn't get to see everything we wanted to see.
The people at the B&B's were just so nice that it was hard to leave, so we spent a lot of time just visiting with each family before we left each day. We even stayed for 2 days at our first B&B. They were great.
The weather was great and the scenery was beautiful. All and all it was a great trip.
Thanks again, and I can't wait to visit Britain again.

Hi all at myguideBritain,
Thank you very much for helping us plan our trip to the UK. We enjoyed the stay in Wales at Penycastell Farm with Jean Blackwell-Vickers. She was a very gracious hostess and shared her lovely accommodation and stories with us. I will write to her personally and let her know how much we enjoyed our accommodation in that beautiful countryside.
Rubert Cole - Miami, Florida, USA - May 2004
