Please read the following Booking Terms and Conditions carefully before completing the Confirmation Form at the bottom of the page.

1. Airline Tickets: Airline tickets will be reserved on behalf of the Guest and the fare guaranteed for 24 hours. The Guest will need to revert with confirmation, payment and acceptance of details and booking conditions within this 24 hour period. Fares and reservation guarantee will automatically expire on bookings not confirmed within 24 hours. On receipt of the confirmation, tickets will be issued automatically and will then be subject to cancellation penalties or change fees if the customer needs to cancel or change their travel arrangements.

Please note that if you take flights within Europe or internally in Britain, different weight restrictions may apply for these flights and that individual airlines have different policies regarding baggage handling and weight restrictions. Please ask your vacation specialist for further information.

ALL ECONOMY AIRLINE TICKETS CARRY A CANCELLATION PENALTY OR CHANGE FEE DEPENDING ON THE AIRLINE AND THE FARE PAID.

2. Ferry Tickets: Ferry crossings will be reserved on behalf of the Guest and fare guarannteed for 24 hours. The Guest will need to revert with confirmaion, payment and acceptance of details and booking conditions with this 24 hour period. Fares and reservation guarantee will automatically expire on bookings not confirmed within 24 hours. On receipt of the confirmation, tickets will be issued automatically and will then be subject to cancellation penalties or change fees if the Guest needs to cancel or change their travel. Cancellation fee varies from ferry company to ferry company and Guests will be advised of these fees when they are requesting a booking.

3. Car Hire: Car hire reservations will be put in place on receipt of your confirmation acceptance of details and booking conditions.It is the guests responsibility to notify myguideBritain if they are in breach of any of the car rental company’s terms & conditions.

The Car Rental Company will require a credit card imprint when you are picking up your car to cover the excess/fuel deposit etc. If you do not carry a credit card you will need to pay a cash deposit to cover the excess/fuel deposit. 4. Car Rental Cancellation Fees: 15% of the total car rental cost provided the car is cancelled a minimum of 24 hours before the pickup time. If the car is cancelled within 24 hours of the pickup time, the cancellation fee will be 25% of the total car rental cost.

5. Hotel Accommodation: We require your credit card details in order to be able to process a hotel reservation. myguideBritain will endeavour to book the accommodations you have requested but will offer an alternative of the same standard as close as possible to the location requested if your first choice is not available. Alternatively you may forward a deposit of 50% of the booking total to myguideBritain.This deposit is refundable if your first choice of accommodation is not available and the alternative offered is not suitable to you. Once accommodation reservations are confirmed, the cancellation policies of the various hotels will apply.

6. Accommodation Cancellation Fees:
Within 10-6 weeks of departure - 20% of the accommodation total.
Within 6-4 weeks of departure - 50% of the accommodation total.
Within 4-2 weeks of arrival - 80% of the accommodation total.
Within 2 weeks of arrival - 100% of the accommodation total.

7. Packages: For package bookings made more than 10 weeks before departure, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the booking total is required. If the booking is made within 10 weeks of departure, full payment will be required. A credit card number will be accepted for the deposit/full payment. Once packages are confirmed, they are subject to cancellation penalties or change fees if the Guest needs to cancel or change their travel arrangements.

8. Package Cancellation Fees:
Within 10-6 weeks of departure - 20% of the package total.
Within 6-4 weeks of departure - 50% of the package total.
Within 4-2 weeks of arrival - 80% of the package total.
Within 2 weeks of arrival - 100% of the package total.
In cases where flights/ferries are part of your package the ferry company/relevant airline's cancellation policies apply to that portion of your package. For flight reservations it is the responsibility of the guest to familiarize themselves with the cancellation policy of the relevant airline. Please note: most economy airline tickets are non-refundable.

9. Cancellation Policy of individual segments of a vacation package:
myguideBritain will endeavour to waive cancellation fees wherever possible for cancellation of individual segments of a package resulting in minor changes to the overall package value.  For all other cancellation of vacation package segments please see policy regarding cancellation of the relevant product.  E.g. Car Rental, Accomodation, Airline.

Tips: Tips for services of a personal nature and to staff for services provided are not included in any of the packages and are left to your discretion.

10. Unused Package Arrangements: myguideBritain cannot make refunds or exchanges for unused accommodations, services or features of any package unless agreed upon prior to departure. Claims or disputes should be submitted to
myguideBritain in writing no later than 28 days after the end of the vacation.

12. Travel Insurance:myguideBritain is not responsible for mechanical breakdowns, government actions, weather, acts of God, misconnections or related expenses to/from flights/ferries or other circumstances beyond its control. To guard against unforeseen circumstances, we strongly recommend you purchase an optional travel insurance. For details please enquire from one of our Vacation Guides.

13. Payment Policy: All payment must be made no later than 10 weeks prior to arrival date. myguideBritain accepts payment by cheque or major credit cards. If payment is not received, reservation will automatically cancel and deposit payment become forfeit. No travel documents will be sent out until full payment has been received. Payments by cheque will not be accepted within 21 day of arrival. In this case myguideBritain will supply bank details to process payment by money transfer.

Documents: Documents will be shipped by ground service provided full payment has been received. We need sufficient notice to arrange for early delivery by regular service if Guests intend to leave home prior to their travel arrangements with myguideBritain. Late bookings may incur an express service delivery charge.

14. Amendments: You will be charged an amendment fee of $30 per adult ("Amendment Fee") by myguideBritain for all permitted passenger-initiated changes made after receipt of deposit or full payment by myguideBritain. Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts and Self Catering Apartments may charge a fee for changes or cancellation. Airlines may charge significant change and cancellation fees which vary by carrier. Name changes will be treated as a cancellation and all cancellation fees will apply. Once travel has commenced, any changes or cancellation will be at the expense of the passenger.

15. Cancellations: Package dates are not guaranteed. Should the package supplier cancel the itinerary prior to arrival myguideBritain will offer will the next available date at no additional land cost. If this is not acceptable, a full refund of all monies paid to myguideBritain will be made. myguideBritain cannot accept responsibility for any additional costs or fees relating to such a package booking. If you purchase a non-refundable airline ticket, ensure that your travel agent explains the conditions under which the ticket is issued as myguideBritain is not responsible for any cancellation penalties due to non-refundable airfares.

16. Trip Delay: myguideBritain will not be in a position to reimburse or compensate for lost travel arrangements due to your arrival into Britain being delayed beyond your scheduled arrival date because of delay or cancellation by the air/ferry carrier .

17. Responsibility: myguideBritain Limited, 20 Hydepark Business Centre, 60 Mollinsburn Street, Glasgow, G21 4SF, Scotland. is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage or other loss a myuideBritain Guest incurs on any travel (organized by myguideBritain), arising from acts or omissions by any air/ferry carrier, public transport company, hotel, car rental company, subcontractor or other person or organization, whether or not such company is rendering any services supplied to myguideBritain. All tickets and vouchers are issued and supplied subject to the foregoing and to any and all terms and conditions under which transportation and services are provided. myguideBritain accepts no responsibility for losses or expenses due to delay or changes in schedules, flight/ferry cancellations due to mechanical problems, sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine or other causes. Guests must bear all such losses or expenses. Airline tariffs limit liability for passenger baggage.

18. Currency Rates : Rates on all myguideBritain websites were valid at the time they were published on our websites.
myguideBritain reserves the right to alter prices at any time prior to departure and without prior notice if circumstances so warrant. Any devaluation or revaluation of currencies may affect published prices.

19. Applicable Law: The Guest contract with myguideBritain is subject exclusively to and is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
