The Waterhouses (South Lanarkshire)
The eight Waterhouses are stunningly converted mill buildings sleeping 2 - 4 in one or two twin or double bedrooms. They offer a unique opportunity to stay in the heart of the New Lanark World Heritage Site and are literally right on the river with stunning views.
Each Waterhouse is on two levels and has a lounge, fully equipped kitchen (lounge/kitchen in one bedroom Waterhouses), bathroom with bath and shower and electric storage heating. An extra bed can be added to some Waterhouses (charge applies).
Access to the leisure facilities at the New Lanark Mill Hotel with 16m swimming pool, bubble pool, steam room, sauna, fully equipped gym and state-of-the-art fitness studio. Reduced rates for guests staying at the Waterhouses. Beauty treatments also available.
Surrounded by native woodlands and close to the famous Falls of Clyde, New Lanark World Heritage Site is a former cotton mill founded in 1785 which became famous as the site of Robert Owen's model community. Now beautifully restored as a living community home to around 200 people and a visitor attraction, the fascinating history of the village is interpreted in an award-winning Visitor Centre.
You can enjoy walks in the surrounding Wildlife Reserve and they are ideal for touring, being less than an hour from Glasgow , Edinburgh and the Borders. All the facilities of the New Lanark Mill Hotel are only yards away.
All electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Dogs are allowed with prior permission in some of the Waterhouses (charge applies).
