The Castle is still however just over one hour's drive from Oban, gateway to the isles, and just over 2 hours from the thriving city of Glasgow. Attractions in the area include a number of castle ruins, whisky distilleries and the spectacular coastline of the Mull of Kintyre.
Stonefield Castle itself is an impressive structure which dates back to 1837 and recalls an era of elegant baronial architecture.
