Stirling Highland Hotel

A hotel which exudes character the Stirling Highland Hotel, once the city high school, dates back to 1854 and is located in the heart of historic Stirling .

The Stirling Highland Hotel holds one of the most commanding positions of any hotel within the city, located right in the very heart of Stirling's old town the hotel is just 500 yards from Stirling Castle. There are a host of shops, bars, restaurants and visitor attractions within a few minutes walk whilst the hotel also offers the perfect base for touring the area by car; within a short drive are the Wallace Monument , Falkirk's Wheel and the Bannockburn Heritage Centre. The hotel is easily accessible to major road links and you can reach Edinburgh in less than an hour via the M9 motorway.

Built as the city high school in the mid 1800s the Stirling Highland Hotel is a listed building and still retains many of the original archiectural features including the school observatory at the top of the building. The traditional, period feel is carried through in to the public areas of the hotel and the current design and theme plays on the academic history of the building.

The guests rooms are far from the dormitories that would have been found here over 100 years ago.  Whilst the bedrooms have been designed to retain the character of the building, today the accommodation is warm and welcoming providing a space in which to relax.  The  guest rooms are bright and fresh decorated in mellow colours with traditional furnishings and all of the rooms have easy-chairs with a small coffee table,  refeshments trays and wifi internet access.

One of the most popular eateries in Stirling can be found at the Stirling Highland Hotel; the atmospheric, wood-panelled Scholar's bar and restaurant has a menu offering both tradtional and international gourmet cuisine.  The quirkily named lounge bar - “The Headmaster's Study” offers the perfect retreat for enjoying pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap before bed.

The Stirling Highland Hotel also has extensive leisure facilities including a mini-gym with latest equipment and machines, a 17 metre swimming pool, sauna, spa and steam room.  There are also beauty therapies available at the salon.

The Highland Stirling Hotel offers a unique accommodation experience conveniently located in the heart of this historic town.
