Loch Roag is stunningly set against the landscapes and sea views of the Isle of Lewis which combined with the Isle of Harris is the Outer hebrides main island. The guest house is ideally situated for nature and wildlife lovers, walkers, hikers and those simply looking to explore these magnificent isles and their wealth of natural, historic and prehistoric sites such as Brock Carloway and the Callainais standing stones. Loch Roag is less than 30 mins drive from Stornoway which is the main town and offers ferry crossings to the Scottish mainland at Ullapool. Alternatively from the south the islands can be reached by ferry in to Tarbert, Harris from Uig on the Isle of Skye.

Donald McArthur and family set-up and have operated Loch Roag since 1999 so you are assured a warm personal welcome and pride of service. Continually upgraded over the years, the guest house is now awarded 5* by the Scottish Tourist Board. There are a number of extra touches including a range of art and photography works from local galleries on display throughout the house and a wealth of local-interest tourist books and information for guests to browse through in the comfortable guest lounge. At the Loch Roag you will definitely have a home-from-home accommodation experience.

Overnight accommodation is provided in six letting bedrooms each of which are individually designed, tastefully decorated and furnished to high standards of comfort. Rooms are generally light and airy and many have spectacular loch views. Each bedroom is equipped with central heating, tea and coffee making facilities, private or ensuite bath/shower rooms, and wireless broadband internet is available throughout the house. Ground floor bedrooms are available.

The spacious dining room at Loch Roag offers panormaic loch views from its five expansive windows. Evening meals are served on request from a small but sumptuous menu and served with a distinctly Hebridean hospitality. The breakfast menu has been carefully developed to suit all tastes including traditional favourite options from cooked and continental menus along side some local specialities for the more adventurous. Porrifge, smoked kippers and white pudding are all on the menu.
