Inver Lodge Hotel

Prices From $324 per room
Set amid the beautiful wilderness of the Highlands , the Inver Lodge Hotel offers the perfect opportunity to experience the spectacular rugged environment of the Scottish highlands and escape the bustle of modern life.

Perched on a hilltop overlooking the quiet fishing village of Lochinver, the Inver Lodge commands a strategic position to access the surrounding hinterland. The reception area is spacious and though maintaining the traditions of a hunting lodge, with it's mounted trophies, the décor is less masculine and more relaxing.

Bedrooms are extremely well sized, tasteful and elegantly furnished and very comfortable. Bathrooms are equally impressive, spacious and spotless with superior fittings. But the winning feature are the breathtaking views of Lochinver and the distant outline of the Western Isles while to the rear the rugged peaks jut out from the Assynt highland region.

The dining room too offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and a mouth-watering menu, devised from local ingredients featuring freshly caught salmon and lobster, highland venison, lamb and Aberdeen Angus beef. An extensive wine list matches the fine cuisine and the bar offers a good range of regional malt whiskies.

The highland habitat is the main attraction to the region and Inver Lodge offers access to many famous hill routes and rods on local on nearby rivers making an elegant homely base from which to explore and experience one of the few great wildernesses of Britain. From moorlands and mountains, to fast flowing rivers, lochs and coastline, the scenery is beautifully diverse and teeming with wildlife. Red and Roe deer graze the grounds, brown trout and salmon swim the nearby waters and above the golden eagle soars majestically and you can experience all this first hand.

Though its remoteness is appealing it isn't that difficult to get to, with regular flights from London to Inverness followed by a scenic two hour drive through the highlands.
