Hillview Cottage (Speyside)

Hillview is a wonderful cottage to enjoy with fantastic views of Glenlivet and the surrounding countryside.

The cottage was part of the Glenlivet Distillery up until 1952. Now renovated to a very high standard, the aim of the owners is to offer a luxurious and relaxing break in the heart of the highlands of Scotland for up to 12 people.

On the ground floor is the large lounge, a 2nd lounge (The Den), dining room, kitchen, twin bedroom, toilet and shower room, utility room and the hallway. The first floor consists of two twin bedrooms, one bunk bedroom, one double bedroom, one master en-suite bedroom and family bathroom.

Glenlivet is one of Scotland's 'secret glens' in the Cairngorms National Park. The two rivers of Livet and Avon are part of the 58,000 acre of Glenlivet Estate, part of the Crown Estate. This area of the highlands has beautiful walks, cycling, horse riding and skiing areas, and because Glenlivet is a Crown Estate these are well signposted and maintained. Here you will find solitude and extensive, wide open spaces.

Glenlivet has nowhere lower than 600 feet, and a lot of traditional industries still exist like whisky distilleries, farming and forestry. Also the Livet and Avon (pronounced "a'an") offer fantastic fishing with weekly permits available for the Community owned stretches of river.

The rolling hills change colour dramatically in late summer and autumn. Wildlife lovers will not be disappointed with Glenlivet as there is an abundance of animals roaming and birds living in the area. There are many types of wildlife to discover in the beautiful glen.

Grantown on Spey is only 19 miles away, Elgin 27 miles, the scenic coast of Morayshire only 20 minutes away, Aviemore 30 miles and Inverness 50 miles. Also the major Scottish ski resorts of Glenshee, Lecht and Cairngorm are within one hour's drive. Ballater and the Royal Balmoral Castle are only a 30 minutes drive away. Also, Glenlivet Whisky Distillery is on the door step.

Hillview has 2 large TVs with freeview, CD player, radio, WiFi internet connection.
Large electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge / freezer.
Two large dining tables.
Cot and high chair available (no charge) - visitors to bring their own cot linen.

Bed linen, duvets, towels and tea towels are included. The cottage also has a kennel if you wish to take your dog (maximum 2).
