Harbour Row Cottages (Mull of Galloway)
Built in 1990 and designed to resemble fisherman's cottages, Harbour Row consists of three single level terraced cottages sleeping 4 each (Eigg, Rhum & Gigha), and two x 2-storey semi-detached houses sleeping 6 each (Islay & Jura).
Situated only yards from the sea and a sand and shingle beach, each property overlooks Luce Bay. Ideal for families, there is a play area for the young children. To the rear are garden and patio areas. All properties are individually owned and furnished to a high standard. There is a car parking space near each cottage.
The three single storey cottages, Eigg, Rhum and Gigha, sleep 4 each. Entry is through your front door and vestibule with hanging space for coats with a door leading directly into the living room which in turn leads into the kitchen/dining area with French windows onto the patio. The bathroom, with bath and shower, is at the rear, as is the twin bedded room. The double bedroom is at the front. Heating is by electric central heating and open fire or stoves.
Islay and Jura are semi-detached two-storey houses which sleep 6 each. Entry is through a porch which leads into the open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. Upstairs is the bathroom and three twin / double bedrooms (Islay has 2 double and 1 twin-bedded rooms, Jura has 1 double and 2 twin-bedded rooms). Heating is by storage heaters and open fire.
All properties have electric cooker, washing machine, fridge, microwave, colour TV and video recorder. In addition, some have dishwashers, CD players and barbecues.
A separate laundry room has tumble driers, hanging drying facility, a freezer and a payphone for use by all. There is also a lockfast area for cycles.
Bed linen and towels are included. Electricity is charged extra on meter readings. Cot and high chair available. The prices include the cost of coal, logs or peat for the open fires or solid fuel stoves. Pets are allowed with advance permission. Bread and milk may be ordered prior to arrival. No smoking in any of the cottages.
Near to renowned Botanical Gardens, the area is a haven for wildlife and nature lovers. The RSPB site at Mull of Galloway is close by.
Drummore is Scotland 's most southerly village 15 miles south of Stranraer, and Harbour Row, designed to be a 'home from home', is by the harbour and old Coastguard Station.
