The Faroe Islands are a beautiful and unspoilt group of 18 islands in the North Atlantic
In this incredible destination, Sheer cliffs and rugged mountains contrast with green fields, tumbling waterfalls and brightly coloured houses in quaint villages. The northerly location ensures extra-long summer days which make the islands a paradise for walking, hiking and birdwatching.
Guided tours help introduce you to the rich heritage of these islands and are available on foot, by coach or by boat.
The Faroe Islands have been an autonomous province of Denmark since 1948.
Normally a Smyril Line ferry connection from Lerwick in Shetland allows you to stay for 2, 5 or 9 nights but this can change from year to year. For example in 2008 the Shetland connection was discontinued and instead the 'Norröna' sailed from Scrabster in northern Scotland to Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands, with connections to Iceland, Norway and Denmark.
In 2009 the connection between Scrabster and Tórshavn has been ended and as yet there is no confirmation of ferry connection. Call us for further details.
