The Doune Braes offers an excellent base for exploring both Lewis and Harris the most northerly of the Hebridean or Western Isles. Lewis can be easily accessed by sea with regular ferry sailings into Stornoway from Ullapool on the mainland of Scotland whilst Harris (adjoining Lewis) can also be accessed by ferry in to Tarbert from Uig on the Isle of Skye.
