The Tour

Day 1 The Welsh Capital Cardiff

After your arrival to Heathrow or Gatwick glide in to central London on an express rail transfer before changing to a main line for your journey to the Welsh capital, Cardiff, a vibrant city contrasting old and new. Enjoy gothic architecture at St John's Church and the elegant Victorian buildings of Cathays Park home to the National Museum and Gallery of Wales. Explore the spectacular Cardiff Castle and the contrasting contemporary Cardiff Bay . Within a short bus ride of the city centre you will also find the fairytale Castell Coch in Tongwynlais and the Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans.

Overnight Cardiff.

Day 2 Castles and Market Towns

Today use your rail pass to explore the countryside surrounding Cardiff. Within short journey's of the city you will find the traditional valleys town of Caerphilly and Caerphilly Castle or further East the market town of Chepstow and Chepstow Castle dating back to 1068. The rural market town of Abergavenny is only 40mins away and offers bus links to Raglan Castle and Monmouth . Those who want to dedicate a whole day traveling can journey through Swansea in to West Wales to the bustling harbour town of Tenby .

Overnight Cardiff.

Day 3 Conwy Castle and Llandudno

The rail journey to north Wales is long but beautiful as you pass through border towns of Leominster and Shrewsbury before the train line reaches the northern coast and runs right along the waters edge for much of the line. Arriving in Llandudno , wander the length of the sandy bay along the elegant promenade and admire the Victorian architecture of the seafront townhouses and pier. Continue to Conwy where you are greeted by the turrets Conwy Castle ; wander its medieval town walls and watch towers which still surround almost the entire town and explore Conwy's quaint cobbled streets, market squares and fishing boats bobbing on the Marina.

Overnight Conwy/Llandudno.

Day 4 Caernarfon and Anglsey

Today explore by public bus service journeying from Conwy in to the north west Wales visiting the bustling market town of Caernarfon . The town's menacing medieval Caernarfon Castle holds a commanding position in the town centre and was the stunning setting for the 1969 investiture of Prince Charles by the Queen. Continue to the beautiful Isle of Anglesey and the stunning Beaumaris Castle .

Overnight Conwy/Llandudno

Day 5 Chester and London

Return along the north wales coastline crossing the border in to England. An ideal stop is the charming city of Chester in the north of England. From here continue south to London where you can explore the magical sights of the English Capital including Buckingham Palace, Westminster & Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge and the London Eye.

Overnight London.

Day 6 Return Home

Return to the airport for your return flight home.
