Our Memberships

At myguideBritain and myguideScotland, we are proud to be members of, or work with, the following tourism organisations and trade associations:

VisitScotland, the Scottish Tourist Board.

We work closely with VisitBritain and VisitScotland, the national tourism agencies, and participate with travel agents who are members of VisitBritain's BritAgent program and VisitScotland's SCOTS program (Specialist Counselor On Travel to Scotland) (and with other agents also). The SCOTS and BritAgent programs were set up by VisitBritain and VisitScotland to educate US & Canadian travel agents and bring them together with British tourism companies.

The SDMA (see below) is a member of the Scottish Tourism Forum, an independent trade body comprising Scottish trade associations, businesses, marketing and local area tourism groups.

We are a founder member of the Scottish Destination Management Association. Established in 1990, the SDMA is recognised by VisitScotland (the Scottish Tourist Board) and the Scottish Government as being the official organization representing the views of Scottish tour operators, destination management and receptive service companies which are based and operate in Scotland.
