The hotel is set in 3 acres of gardens, mixing formal well-manicured lawns, riverside walks and productive kitchen gardens supplying herbs and vegetables to the restaurant at Milebrook House.
Fine dining is key to the appeal of Milebrook House, canapés and pre dinner drinks are served in the lounge bar, which boasts a good selection of malt whiskies and an extensive wine menu. The cuisine at Milebrook house draws on the best of local Welsh produce for well-prepared, well-presented traditional dishes, enjoyed in the restaurants refined surroundings. After a fine dinner, petit fours are served in the sedate surroundings of the drawing room.
Interestingly, Milebrook House was once home to the esteemed traveller Sir Wilfred Thesinger and a number of pictures of his well-worn well-travelled visage can be found around the house.
Milebrook House is literally a stone's throw from the English border, which lies across the River Teme flowing around the rear of the hotel. As such it is the ultimate borderland location and perfectly placed for exploring the rolling hills of the Welsh Marches. Nearby are the quaint medieval Marcher villages of Clun, Bishops Castle and Ludlow and some of the best sections of the Offa's Dyke country walk.
