Day Number 1: Depart USA.
Overnight transatlantic flight to London.
Day Number 2: Arrive London.
Time to relax after checking into your hotel or you may wish to go out and explore this exciting city.
Day Number 3: London - Stratford - York - Darlington.
Greetings
from your Tour Director as you make our way to Stratford-upon-Avon .
Here visit the very house where Shakespeare was born before reaching
the one time Viking stronghold of York . On your arrival, orientation
includes the gothic Minster , its medieval walls and a stroll through
the Shambles. Then there is time at leisure before you head to
Darlington. (Continental breakfast / Dinner)
Day Number 4: Darlington - Durham - Edinburgh (Queensferry) (2nights).
Today
you have a short drive to Durham, which is dominated by its medieval
Cathedral and Castle. From here travel to Hadrians Wall , then on
through the Northumberland National Park to the Scottish border. There
is time for a picture stop at ruined Jedburgh Abbey as you make your
way to Scotland`s elegant capital, Edinburgh for the next two nights.

Day Number 5: Edinburgh at leisure.
Your
morning sightseeing tour takes you around Princes Street, the Royal
Mile and viewing the Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where Mary
Queen of Scots lived. Then enjoy time at leisure, perhaps to shop for
tartans or famous Single Malt Scotch whisky. (Breakfast)
Day Number 6: Edinburgh (Queensferry) - Aviemore.
Your
day begins with a drive over the Forth Bridge to St. Andrews , to see
the famous Golf Course. Then continue on your journey into the scenic
Scottish Highlands past Perth and Pitlochry reaching Aviemore for
dinner and overnight stay. (Breakfast / Dinner)
Day Number 7: Aviemore – Glasgow (Erksine).
Today
you’ll drive along the shores of Loch Ness to Fort William, glimpsing
Ben Nevis, Britain`s highest mountain. Next continue through Glencoe to
learn its tragic history and Loch Lomond on your way to Glasgow for the
night. (Breakfast)
Day Number 8: Glasgow (Erksine) - Grasmere - Preston.
A
morning orientation tour of Glasgow features the Cathedral and George
Square. Then, drive through the Southern Uplands to Moffat and from
here it`s back into England , where you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to the
Lake District, stopping at Grasmere – once the home of the poet William
Wordsworth, before reaching Preston. (Breakfast / Dinner)
Day Number 9: Preston - Chester - Bath.
Your
first stop this morning is in historic Chester . Here explore the `Rows`
and admire the Cathedral. Next off to Stoke-on-Trent to visit the
Wedgwood Pottery Centre. Then on to Bath. (Breakfast)
Day Number 10: Bath - London.
This
morning you can admire Bath`s splendid Georgian architecture before
some free time perhaps to visit the Roman Baths. Next you cross
Salisbury Plain stopping to see the mysterious stone circle at
Stonehenge. Later, your journey brings us back to London. (Breakfast)
Day Number 11: London - USA. Bid farewell on your return flight to the USA. (Continental breakfast)
