A Victorian former rectory, the Kilima Hotel is a welcoming and homely hotel a short distance from the centre of York.

The Kilima Hotel was built in 1871 and was originally a rectory. A number of the building’s original features remain including the hotel’s vaulted cellar, while the Kilima offers modern facilities, excellent hospitality and a good location for exploring the historic city of York.

The hotel’s guestrooms are tastefully decorated and well appointed and comes equipped with all the usual facilities. The Kilima Hotel serves a hearty breakfast and good evening dining in its restaurant, while the hotel’s leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, Turkish steam room and fitness room, as well as free parking for guests. The hotel’s staff are courteous and attentive and the Kilima offers excellent value for money.

The Kilima is a mile from the centre of York and there is a bus stop opposite the hotel if that’s too far to walk. Parking in York is notoriously difficult and can be expensive so it may be best to leave the car at the Kilima and take the bus.

Within it’s medieval city walls York is filled with history, from Roman times to the city’s days as the Viking capital of England.
