Dating back to the 1830s, Abbots Barton Hotel is set within two acres of tranquil gardens, a short walk from the centre of the historic town of Canterbury.
Originally, Abbots Barton was built as a private house on the site of Barley farm owned and run by monks at St. Augustine’s Abbey. This Victorian Gothic portion of the building has been sympathetically added to since it became a hotel in 1927and has hosted many visitors to the historic city of Canterbury and its 12th Century Cathedral, immortalised since the days of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
Abbots Barton Hotel has been tastefully refurbished to offer all the comforts and amenities of a first class modern hotel, with the charm and atmosphere of a time gone by. The hotel’s facilities include the Fountains Restaurant offering Table D’Hote and a la Carte menus and the refined Westfield Bar.
Abbots Barton is just five minutes walk from the centre of Canterbury and Canterbury Cathedral. The hotel is also close to the Euro Tunnel and Dover ferry terminals. |
