Warpool Court Hotel

Luxury accommodation in Britain

The Warpool is set in a fabulous location overlooking the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline in Wales’ Celtic capital of St David’s and has a number of intriguing historic artefacts of its own.

Home to the patron saint of Wales cathedral St David’s was a place of pilgrimage for centuries and has strong Celtic connections associated with various sites on this stretch of spectacular coastline. Set on a bluff above St Non’s Bay with its holy well and ruined chapel is the Warpool Court Hotel.

Built in the 1860s the spacious hotel was originally built as St David’s Cathedral Choir School. Throughout the house are around 3000 unique hand painted tiles, the work of Warpool’s original owner Ada Williams. It took her 30 years to complete the works in incredibly intricate detail, depicting themes from classic texts, which crop up in public areas, stairways, bedrooms and even bathrooms throughout the house. The main piece is the family tree made of heraldic crests in the hotel’s lounge bar. The hotel’s hugely hospitable host will take great pleasure in explaining them to you!

The Warpool has a selection of rooms of differing sizes, split between the original portion of the hotel and a more recent purpose built extension. All rooms are adequately proportioned, light and airy some with king-sized doubles and some with walk in shower and basins. Many have wonderful sea views and all are immaculately kept.

The restaurant at the Warpool comes highly regarded, set in a spacious and graceful conservatory over looking the splendid gardens facing the sea. Warpool enjoys a long-standing reputation for exceptional cuisine. Varied menus offer mouth-watering dishes using the finest locally sourced ingredients, a range of seafood dishes are always available and Warpool's home smoked salmon is a speciality.

The hotel’s peaceful atmosphere extends to its delightful lawned gardens, which sweep along to St Brides Bay close to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Walkway with views of the bluebell crested islands of Skomer and Ramsey.
