From the outside The Edinburgh Residence, comprising three Georgian townhouses, is understatedly similar to the other well kept structures along the leafy terrace in the West End of Edinburgh. But inside is a refined hotel where the emphasis is more on comfort than extravagance providing a refreshing alternative in five star accommodation.
The reception areas are decked out in traditional Georgian splendour featuring a sweeping staircase, solid wood panelling and soft lighting. The drawing room is similarly furnished in a spacious, welcoming area with pleasant views across the city, affording a serene setting in which to unwind, while you help yourself to the well-stocked Honesty Bar.
The Edinburgh Residence offers a selection of 29 luxury suites, from Classic suites, Grand suites and Townhouse apartments (with floor space approximately the same size as a tennis court!). Each suite has been individually decorated and expertly fitted and are clearly lovingly maintained to provide a home from home for guests. The hotel prides itself on its baths where you can relax and enjoy the soothing qualities of a good hot bath in pristine settings.
Though there are no restaurant facilities, the hotel has a fully adequate room service menu and each room is fitted with all the catering facilities you would need to dine in the comfort of your own suite.
Situated close to the main shopping area (in particular Jennings and Harvey Nichols) the Edinburgh Residence enjoys a tranquil yet reasonably central location within walking distance from Edinburgh’s main attractions.
