Built in 1878 as the residence for a wealthy Aberdeen merchant, Ardoe House was inspired by the royal residence at Balmoral Castle a few miles away. This is particularly realised in the turrets of the frontal façade and the stunning original interiors that are seeped in Victorian opulence.
The ornate carved oak panelling, mosaic floor, powerful deep crimson and intricate stain class window featured in reception mark a stunning entrance to Ardoe House. The marriage of original features, intricate carvings, grandiose open fireplaces and sweeping spiral staircase together with modern conveniences embellish Ardoe House most distinctively.
The hotel has over 100 bedrooms mostly housed in a modern extension to the original house. Rooms are spacious and airy complimented with antique furnishings, refined, indulgent bathrooms. All are fitted with all modern facilities and many offer sweeping views of the Aberdeenshire countryside.
