Lake Country House

The Lake Country House is a grand country getaway, which oozes stately, almost aristocratic, Victorian elegance.

Set in a splendid mock Tudor building the Lake Country House overlooks 50 acres of sweeping lawns, rhododendron-lined pathways leading down to riverside walks and a 3-acre lake, from which the hotel takes its name.

As you enter the Lake you are instantly greeted with typical Victorian pomp from the richly furnished lounges, of fine antiques and sumptuous sofas to the up standing, professional service with a stiff upper lip.

The bedrooms, many of which are spacious suites, are luxuriously appointed and generously sized decorated in traditional elegant country house style of flora and chintz with period furniture and a thoughtful attention to detail. The bathrooms to are well appointed and immaculately kept.

The award-winning restaurant combines delicacy and richness with imaginative presentation to match the opulent candlelit ambience sparkling with silver and crystal. The food is complimented by an outstanding list of over 300 wines, widely regarded as one of the best selections in Wales . High teas, together with homemade Welsh cakes and scones and cream are served every afternoon in the comfortable drawing room beside log fires. During summer teas are also served beneath the gentle chestnut tree in the garden overlooking the river.

In season Anglers are drawn to the lake and its huge stocks of trout and salmon. Further a field are the rolling green slopes of the Cambrian Mountains and the rugged Brecon Beacons .
