Halls Croft
Hall’s Croft once belonged to Shakespeare ’s daughter, Susanna, who lived here with her husband, a local doctor by the name of John Hall.
This fine Elizabethan townhouse that once belonged to the couple houses an exhibition of gruesome looking 16th and 17th century medical instruments, from Shakespeare’s time as well as paintings.
Close by is the Holy Trinity Church where the bard is buried, along with his wife Anne Hathaway. In the chancel of the church there are photocopies of Shakespeare’s baptism and burial records as well as a bust of Shakespeare erected seven years after his death.
Hall's Croft was originally a smaller house which was later enlarged to provide enough space for the doctor's needs. Hall's Croft also has a walled garden that contrains various trees, flowers and plants. After Shakespeare's death his daughter moved to a different premises that she had inhereted by her famous father.
