Situated in 5 acres of landscaped woodland gardens, Glenspean is perched on a hilltop overlooking the sweeping Spean Valley and facing out to the formidable Nevis mountain range. The hotel was originally a private hunting lodge for Laird Macintosh built in the 1880s and the estates boundaries at the time stretched to Loch Ness and across the Cairngorms making one of the largest hunting grounds in Scotland that attracted eminent visitors such as King Edward VII.

Glenspean Lodge has a light and airy ambience, decorated with soft colours and lots of front facing windows not only offering splendid views but make maximum use of the natural light throughout all public areas, bar and restaurant. The residents lounge with its restful quaint décor and open fireplace is a cosy and comfortable setting for pre-dinner drinks or after dinner aperitifs.

The lavishly spaced Nevis View Restaurant offers excellent formal dining with a daily selection of the very finest seasonal produce and traditional Scottish fare. Food is also served in the Macintosh Lounge Bar again using fresh locally supplied produce cooked to a very high standard.

Each of the hotel's bedrooms are spacious and elegantly fitted and decorated and many feature views into the valley and out across the mountains, four poster and huge suites are also available making a romantic setting for such a dramatic backdrop.

A full range of local outdoor activities are at hand from fishing, hill walking or for the thrill seekers mountaineering. Glenspean is close to Fort William and Ben Nevis and the beautiful Great Glen, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle are a short drive away.
