Day Number 1: Depart USA

Overnight flight to London.

Day Number 2: Arrive in London

After checking into your hotel and take the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day Number 3: London - Stratford – Coventry – Wedgwood - Harrogate

A warm welcome from your Tour Director this morning as you drive past the Cotswold Hills to Stratford-upon-Avon. Here, visit Shakespeare`s birthplace and drive past Anne Hathaway`s cottage then continue to Coventry, home of Lady Godiva, to see the two Cathedrals. Next you’ll visit the famous Wedgwood Pottery Centre with time to purchase some fine china. Finally, off to Yorkshire and the spa-town of Harrogate where you’ll enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director before dinner tonight. (Continental breakfast/ Dinner)


Day Number 4: Harrogate - York - Durham - Edinburgh (2 nights)

Begin you day with a walking tour of York with your Tour Director, along the city walls and through the medieval streets to the `Shambles` and the gothic York Minster. Then, you`re off to Durham, which is dominated by its 12th century Norman Cathedral, before driving through the Northumberland National Park, past the ruins of Hadrian`s Wall and across the Scottish border where you’ll see the famous Jedburgh Abbey en route to Edinburgh, Scotland`s elegant capital city. (Full English breakfast)

Day Number 5: Edinburgh sightseeing & at leisure

Visit Edinburgh Castle and see the Palace of Holyroodhouse, once home to Mary Queen of Scots, on your morning sightseeing tour. Then enjoy some time on your own to perhaps take an optional excursion and shop along Princes Street for tweeds and tartans. During the Edinburgh Festival in August, tickets to see the spectacular Edinburgh Tattoo at the castle, are included in this tour. This evening, why not join your travelling companions and try some Scottish cuisine and entertainment? (Full Scottish breakfast)

Day Number 6: Edinburgh - St. Andrews - Aviemore

After breakfast today, you’ll drive towards the Fife coast to St. Andrews, the spiritual home of golf and home to the famous golf course. Next, continue your journey over the River Tay, through Dundee and Perth to Pitlochry. From here you’ll cross rugged, heather clad scenery to the Highland town of Aviemore for dinner and an overnight stay. (Full Scottish breakfast/ Dinner)

Day Number 7: Aviemore - Loch Ness - Glasgow

This morning you’ll drive via the magnificent but mournful scenery of Culloden Moor, scene of the last desperate stand of Bonnie Prince Charlie, before continuing to Loch Ness and on to Fort William glimpsing at the imposing peak of Ben Nevis – Britain`s highest mountain. Then on through scenic Glencoe to the shores of Loch Lomond en route to Glasgow for the night. (Full Scottish breakfast)

Day Number 8: Glasgow - Grasmere - Preston

Today we will drive through the Southern Uplands past Moffat to Gretna Green. Here eloping couples would marry against their parents` wishes, and it is still a romantic spot today. From here we drive back into England making a stop in Grasmere, once home of the poet William Wordsworth. The breathtaking scenery will enthral you on your journey to Preston for the night. (Full English breakfast/ Dinner).

Day Number 9: Preston - Chester – Tintern – Bristol

This morning after breakfast your first stop will be at Chester where you can admire the architecture of the galleried `Rows`, while doing a spot of shopping. From Chester cross into Wales and head along the Wye Valley to view the wistful ruins of the 12th Century Tintern Abbey. Finally, you’ll continue on to Bristol where tonight you’ll will enjoy dinner in a charming restaurant. (Full English breakfast/ Hotel dinner)

Day Number 10: Bristol - Bath – Stonehenge – Salisbury – London

This morning you’ll make your way to the beautiful city of Bath. Marvel at the town’s superb Georgian architecture and enjoy a visit to the Roman Baths. From here you’ll continue your journey across Salisbury Plain making a stop to view the ancient monoliths at Stonehenge. Later, visit Salisbury with time for views of its impressive Cathedral before you carry on through Wiltshire and Hampshire back to London. (Full English breakfast)

Day Number 11: London - USA

After breakfast this morning, time to bid farewell as you transfer to the airport for your return flight to America. (Continental breakfast)
