Situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park , Craig Y Nos Castle is surrounded by spectacular natural scenery with Henryhd Waterfalls and the National Showcaves of Wales practically on the doorstep. Whilst mountainous uplands lie to the North, just 45 minues south of Craig Y Nos you will find Wales' second city, Swansea and the beautiful, untouched coastlines of the Gower Peninsula . The hotel is easily accessible by road, just half an hour's drive from the M4 motorway.

Craig Y Nos was built as the quiet retreat for the world-famous Victorian Opera Singer Adelina Patti. Reflecting her wealth and flamboyance, Craig Y Nos was constructed with opulence in mind and boasts a number decorative features including an ornamental fountain, clock tower and crenulated turrets. The extensive grounds of Craig Y Nos park and gardens surround the Castle ideal for evening strolls in fine weather. Hidden inside the Castle itself is Patti's own private theatre, now Grade 1 listed and protected, where she would practice her singing and entertain her many friends. Craig Y Nos is said to be haunted and operate occasional Ghost Tours of the castle and grounds.

Guest accommodation at Craig Y Nos Castle is provided in a number of rooms and suites located within the castle itself and throughout the extensive adjoining buildings including the old stables and gatehouse. Due to the age of the buildings the guest rooms vary in size and all have been extensively refurbished in recent years to offer high levels of comfort. Rooms are traditionally styled in fresh neutral colours some with antique furnishings whilst others boast natural soft-wood beds and fittings. All rooms offer modern en-suite bathrooms, tea & coffee making facilities and televisions, some rooms have an additional DVD player. Some rooms have internet access via the telephone in the rooms.

The spacious restaurant at Craig Y Nos opens only for special events and on weekends however there are a number of traditional pubs and inns offering quality dining within a short walk or drive of the Castle; reception staff will be happy to make recommendations on places to eat in the area. The Patti bar at Craig Y Nos offers a warm and welcoming atmopshere, traditionally furnished and offering a roaring log-fire throughout the winter months. The bar is well-stocked and offers a range of wines, spirits, lagers and real ales. Breakfast each morning is served in the newly refurbished conservatory offering tranquil countryside views. Please note full-cooked breakfast is only served on weekends whilst a lighter continental option is served Mon-Fri.

Leisure facilities at Craig Y Nos include a small fitness suite with modern exercise equipment and relaxing hot-tub ideal to soothe aching feet after long walks in the Beacons or a day sightseeing. These facilities are complimentary for residents.

It should be noted that Craig-Y-Nos is a dog-friendly hotel. There are two resident dogs and guests are welcome bring their own. Dogs are allowed in the public areas except the dining rooms and restaurant.
