Dating back to the 17th Century, the Cedar Court Hotel was the
first hotel in the affluent spa town of Harrogate, on the edge of the
Yorkshire Dales .
Built in 1671, the Cedar Court Hotel
was Harrogate’s first hotel, long before the town was popularised in
the 19th Century. Following a multi-million pound restoration, the
hotel was reopened in 1999 offering all the modern facilities you would
expect of a four star establishment, whilst retaining the charm and
character of its Victorian heyday.
The hotel is just a five
minute walk from the centre of Harrogate, an interesting town of
Victorian terraces and tea rooms, most famously Betty’s tea room.
Harrogate is situated on the eastern edges of the Yorkshire Dales
National Park, whose sweeping beauty provided the backdrop to James
Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small. The Cedar Court Hotel is
perfectly placed for touring and walking holidays in this area.
