The Tour Day 1 Make your way in to central London and spend day one exploring the city. London is home to a host of must-see landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge and Covent Garden. A great way to get around the sites is on the City Sightseeing Tour which offers 2 tour routes and complimentary cruise on the Thames. After getting snaps of all of these icons indulge in some shopping along the world famous Oxford Street. Round off the evening seeing the city skyline at sunset and with a flight on the British Airways London Eye. Overnight London. Day 2 Jump on the train at Paddington Station for a journey to the historic town of Oxford where you can explore the cobbled streets and university colleges where many Great British poets and authors once wandered. They were also used in the filming of the Harry Potter movies. Continue by rail through the Cotswolds countryside to Shakespeare country and the town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Stratford is one of England's most picturesque towns with boats bobbing on the river Avon and the town bustling with timber-fronted buildings, some dating back to Elizabethan times. While you're here explore the Shakespeare history with a visit to his Birth Place and Anne Hathaway's Cottage, home of Shakespeare's wife. Return to London for a nightcap in your hotel. Overnight London. Day 3 Depart from your hotel on a complimentary transfer for your fully escorted trip to the French Capital of Paris. Climb aboard the Eurostar or Chunnel to be whisked away under the English channel and in to the heart of the French Capital. There is no need to worry about the language barrier however as your English speaking tour guide will be with you every step of the way. You will begin with a panoramic tour of the city and a champagne lunch on the Eiffel Tower. You will round off the day with a cruise on the river Seine giving you superb views of Notre Dame before heading back to your hotel. The evening is free for you to spend your time soaking up the city atmosphere, sampling the Parisien cuisineor perhaps visiting the Moulin Rouge. Overnight Paris. Day 4 Today is free to discover Paris at your own leisure. With your Paris Visite Travel Card and a city map you will be well equipped to explore the city highlights including the bustling streets with their terrace cafes, the grand Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysee and a visit to the Louvre and its array of world-famous masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa. Return to the station in the evening for your return to London. Overnight London. Day 5 Really get to know London on day three taking time to make the most of Britain's free admissions to all public museums and galleries and explore the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the British Museum, the Tate Britain Gallery, the Tate Modern Gallery, the National Gallery just to name a few! A visit to Madame Tussauds is also well worth a visit to get up close and personal with some of our British celebrities (including the Royals!). Finally spend this evening in London's famous West End with tickets to one of the spectacular and world-renowned shows or musicals. Overnight London. Day 6 From London journey South West in to the English countryside with your first stop in Winchester and what was once not only the capital of Wessex but also of England. Explore the cobbled Streets the grounds of the grand gothic cathedral before finding the cottage where Jane Austen once lived. Then move on to the charming town of Salisbury and home to yet another grand Cathedral. From here you could take a public bus or fully guided bus tour out to the mysterious and iconic monoliths of Stonehenge standing eerily on the Wiltshire Plain. Or alternatively journey south to the coastal city of Portsmouth boasting a lavish sea front with two traditional Victorian piers and centuries of naval history. Don't forget to climb aboard Nelson's very own HMS Victory located in Portsmouth's Royal Naval Dockyard. Overnight London. Day 7 Return to the airport for your return flight to the US.
