Our capital cities offer iconic sites and world class attractions alongside three unique and contrasting British cultures. The TourDay OneAfter your arrival to Heathrow or Gatwick glide in to central London on an express rail transfer before changing to a main line for your journey across England and into the Welsh capital city of Cardiff. Spend your first day exploring the UK's youngest capital, a vibrant city contrasting the old and the new. From the bustling shopping of Queen Street amble in to Cardiff Castle built after the Norman invasion. Maybe pick up the City Sightseeing Bus to tour Cardiff and enjoy the city's stunning architecture from the medieval gothic towers of St John’s Church and Cardiff Castle, to the elegant Victorian buildings of Cathays Park. Your evening should be spent with a stroll around the modern Cardiff Bay development and a meal or drinks in one of the trendy waterfront bars and restaurants. Don't forget to visit the state of the art architecture of the Senedd building, home of the new National Assembly for Wales. Overnight Cardiff Day TwoAfter a hearty welsh breakfast explore the outer areas of Cardiff. Take a bus to the village of Tongwynlais where you can visit Castle Coch a fairy-tale castle nestled in the Taff Valley forest. And get a real taste of Wales' diverse history with a visit to St Fagan's open-air, interactive museum where you can literally travel through time to see life through the ages in Wales from the original Celtic settlements right through to the industrial revolution and mining communities of the 20th century. If you would prefer to see some of the famous welsh countryside, spend day two in the welsh valleys, along the gower peninsular coastline or exploring the rich Roman history on one of our scheduled mini-day tours. Overnight Cardiff Day ThreeContinue your tour to Britain's best known capital and world class city of London. London is home to a host of must-see landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge and Covent Garden. A great way to get around the sites is on the City Sightseeing Tour which offers 2 tour routes and complimentary cruise on the Thames. After getting snaps of all of these icons indulge in some shopping along the world famous Oxford Street. Round off the evening seeing the city skyline at sunset and with a flight on the British Airways London Eye. Overnight London Day FourTake this day to make the most of Britain's free admissions to all public museums and galleries and explore the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the British Museum, the Tate Britain Gallery, the Tate Modern Gallery, the National Gallery just to name a few! A visit to Madame Tussauds is also well worth a visit to get up close and personal with some of our British celebrities (including the Royals!). Finally spend this evening in London's famous West End with tickets to one of the spectacular and world-renowned shows or musicals. Overnight London Day FiveCatch the morning high speed link north towards Scotland but maybe stop off for brunch on the way in the Roman city of York. Continue to Edinburgh where you will be greeted by a traditional Scottish welcome to a city steeped in history. Hop on the City Tour Bus to get around and amble through the town houses and garden squares of the Georgian new town before climbing up to Edinburgh Castle which stands on a rocky precipice overlooking the bustling city below. Don't miss out on the “Spirit of the Tattoo” visitor centre which offers free admission and details the history of this World-Famous tradtional Scottish event before rounding off the day with a meal in one of the cosy restaurants of the medieval old-town. Overnight Edinburgh Day SixA visit to the Palace of Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament will get your day off to a great start before wandering down the Royal Mile or doing a spot of shopping on Princes Street which is also home to an abundance of museums and visitor centres. Finally head back towards Edinburgh Castle to discover the secrets of the malts and Scotland's “water of life” on the famous Whiskey Experience. Alternatively spend day six exploring the beauty of the Highlands, the myths of Loch Ness, the history of Braveheart Country or the mystery of Rosslyn Chapel on one of our scheduled out-of-Edinburgh min-tours. Overnight Edinburgh Day SevenAfter a full Scottish breakfast to kick start your day make your way back to the airport for your return flight to the US with the echo of bag-pipes still ringing in your ears.
