The Tour

Day 1

As you arrive in the UK activate your rail pass to cruise in to Paddington Station on the Heathrow Express, from here you can join the mainline train direct to the traditional City of Bath. Spend the day exploring this Grand Georgian city with its narrow arcades and large cobbled market squares. Jump on board the City Sightseeing Tour Bus for a guided sightseeing before climbing off to explore the world famous Roman Baths and pump room. A visit to the impressive Bath Abbey and a spot of shopping is a must. Return to your hotel for a meal and overnight in Bath.

Day 2

From bath travel north to Cheltenham, a large town full of English charm set in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Cheltenham was just a small village until King George’s visit in 1788, which sealed its fame and prosperity and caused it to become a stomping ground for the UK's rich and famous throughout the 1800s. Spend today with relaxing strolls though Cheltenham's host of wide boulevards, promenades, glamorous Regency Terraces with classical facades, and Imperial Gardens before before visiting the UK's most impressive Spa and Pump room where you can still sample England's only naturally alkaline water which was traditionally said to hold healing qualities. Round off the day on Clarence Street and a visit to the city's museum and art gallery which details British social history so you can see the development of our nation through the ages. Relax in the evening in one of Cheltenhams classy restaurants.

Overnight Cheltenham.

Day 3

Today use Cheltenham as the ideal base for exploring out in to the Cotwolds countryside. Begin the day with a 10 minute rail journey to the City of Gloucester and its huge gothic cathedral which featured as parts of Hogwarts School in the filming of the Harry Potter movies. From here you can jouney north to Worcester which homes an impressive Cathedral of its own nestled in mishmash of historic architecture from the timber fronted buildings of the Tudors through to Georgian Stone. Head to the Royal Worcester Porcelain museum and visitor centre or purchase some of your own at the factory store. Don't miss out on a stroll down Friar Street and the Greyfriars town house home to an impressive collection of British Antiques. From Worcester ride in to the Heart of the Cotswolds for an afternoon visiting some of the most traditional towns in the Cotswolds including Evesham and Moreton-in-Marsh. Return to your hotel in Cheltenham for a nightcap.

Overnight Cheltenham.

Day 4

Set off early to travel in the north Cotswolds today and in to the heart of Shakespeare country and the town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Use day four to soak up the unique atmosphere in Stratford which is arguably one of England's most picturesque towns with boats bobbing on the river Avon and the town bustling with timber-fronted buildings, some dating back to Elizabethan times. While you're here explore Shakespeare's history with a visit to the museum and exhibition at the great bard's Birth Place and Anne Hathaway's Cottage, home of Shakespeare's wife. Round off the day with a professional production from the Royal Shakespeare Company in one of Stratford's many theatres.

Overnight Stratford Upon Avon

Day 5

Jump on board the train this morning and make your way to Warwick where you can experience the grandeur of one of the UK's most impressive medieval castles. Warwick Castle is a sight to behold and a must for your vacation photo album. From Warwick ride the rails north to the historic City of Chester and spend your afternoon exploring the city. Chester is unique with its double tiered shopping arcades with facades dating back to the 14th century however its most impressive historic land mark is the recently excavated Roman amphitheatre in the heart of the town. A trip on the City Sightseeing bus will ensure that you don't miss a thing. Return to Chester in the evening for a dinner in your hotel or in one of the city's fashionable restaurants or eateries.

Overnight Chester.

Day 6

With a taste of the north country of England and some Roman history continue your tour through the Yorkshire Dales to the grand city of York. Begin your day seeing the history of Britrain's rail system and the means by which you have been touring with a visit the British Railway Museu, hme to some of our oldest steam engines. From here venture in to the city centre and ogle at the impressive York Minster Cathedral located in the heart of the City. A quick wander through the centre will take you to Britain's oldest shopping Street, the Shambles, full of quaint, traditional shops where you can buy everything from meats, breads and cheeses to traditional English sweets and confectionary or hand made toys and gifts. If your brave enough don't miss a visit to the York Dungeons or take one of the regular Ghost tours operating throughout York as it is one of Britain's most haunted cities. Relax in the evening with meal and a good English beer in one of York's traditional pubs.

Day 7

From York return Southwards on the high speed rail link to England's grand capital city. London offers a myriad of icons to marvel at and to ensure you get round all of London in one day why not jump aboard the City Sightseeing Tour and get snaps of all the must-see landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral andTower Bridge just to name a few.

Ovenight London.

Day 8

Jump on board the Heathrow/Gatwick Express to return to the airport for your return to the US/Canada.
