Bindon Country House
The distinctive Victorian Baroque turrets of Bindon Country House are an impressive sight overlooking an idyllic pastoral landscape, surrounded by delightful gardens and ancient oaks.

The core of Bindon House dates back to the 16th Century and follows a lineage of owners with fascinating histories of Royal intrigue and mixed fortunes. Much of it was rebuilt around the late 1800s and its architectural flourishes are exquisite Victorian fantasies. Though it fell into disrepair in more recent times, Bindon House was lovingly restored to its former glory and opened as a luxury Country House Hotel and Restaurant in 1997.

The central motif on Bindon House reads ‘Je Trouve Bien’, as accurate now as it was when it was put in place in the 17th Century. Indeed guests will ‘find well’ a fabulous mix of refined Victorian interiors, sumptuous rooms, delightful food and excellent service. The public areas are lined with dark oak panelling and richly decorated with antique furnishings, fabulous tapestries and oil paintings. The lounge retains a homely feel with softer décor and over looks the gardens and the lazy outdoor terrace.

Each of the Hotel’s bedrooms are hugely spacious, the four-poster suites are particularly exceptional and soothingly decorated with country charm and have lovely views across the gardens through tall windows. The bathrooms are equally indulgent with free standing tubs and little pampering luxuries.

The restaurant offers a stunning menu of contemporary and very individual dishes, which change daily ensuring the freshest of produce and the restaurant is set within elegant Victorian surroundings. Afterwards you could retire to the refined library cum bar, The Wellington, a very gentlemanly bar well stocked with fine wines, whiskies and cognacs and decorated with rich Victorian furnishings and oak panelling.

Bindon House’s facilities include an indoor swimming pool in the Orangery and tennis courts within the grounds or you could take up a game of croquet on the lawn. All in all, a relaxing, refined and attractive country house hotel.
