Beaufort Arms Hotel
An original 15th century coaching inn, the Beaufort Arms Hotel now offers contemporary accommodation and comfort located in a traditional village in the south Wales border area.

Situated in the heart of Raglan, a tiny and traditional welsh village, the Beaufort Arms overlooks the pretty village church and lies in the shadow of nearby medieveal fortress, Raglan Castle. The  region is home to a number of historic market towns including Monmouth and Abergavenny, a host of Medieval Border Castles not to mention the 19th century industrial heritage of the South Wales valleys and Blaenavon. The hotel is highly accessible just minutes from the main road network connecting Raglan with England & the Midlands via the M50 and West Wales & the south of England via the M4. Cardiff is just 45 minutes away by car and there is ample on-site parking for residents.

The historic building, some parts dating back to the 15th century, is made up from the original coaching inn, a tradtional chapel and the more modern Stables annex. With close connections to Raglan Castle the Beaufort is reputedly home to underground tunnels, hidden wells and indeed a stone fireplace said to be taken from the Castle itself.  In recent years the interiors and public areas have been lovingly and carefully refurbished to offer modern but elegant design and comfort whilst mindful of the buildings long history. Many stunning original features have been retained including slate flooring, oak wood panels and orginal beams. The family run operation ensures that a personal and warm welsh welcome is guaranteed.

There are 15 guest bedrooms at the Beaufort Hotel which are all individually styled and furnished to combine contemporary design with traditional touches. Focus is on guest comfort with soothing natural colours, crisp white linen, goose feather duvets and additional seating.  Rooms in the main hotel are spacious and airy and several have pretty village views over the village highstreet and churchyard opposite. A small number of more compact, ground floor rooms are available in the modern stables wing. All rooms provide modern services including en-suite facilities, televisions, hopsitality trays and broadband connection.

Food and drink play an important role at the Beaufort Arms Hotel, which holds the “Cask Marque” for the quality of its ales and beers.  The atmospheric, small public bar is the ideal place to meet the locals and enjoy a range of carefully selected lagers, wines, spirits and feature ales. The Lounge Bar offers a more relaxing retreat; here you can sit-back in comfortable easy chairs in front of the open fireplace to enjoy morning coffee, light lunch, home-made tea and cakes or evening bar meals.  For more formal evening meals, the Beaufort Arms restaurant provides the ideal setting in which to enjoy cosy, intimate candlit dinners with professional but personal service.  The menu offers a range of modern and traditional fish, meat and vegetarian dishes along with weekly specials board all of which are freshly prepared and using the finest produce, locally sourced wherever possible. Sumptuous home-made desserts and quality coffee offer the perfect end to any occasion. In the summer months meals and drinks can be enjoyed Al Fresco on one of the hotels two terrace areas.

The Beaufort Arms Hotel combines an historic setting, modern comfort and intimate service to provide an unforgettable accommodation and dining experience in this beautiful and unique corner of Wales.
