Whitley Bay South

A traditional English Seaside resort incorporating over a mile and a half of golden sand punctuated by several rocky outcrops. Bordering the northern end of the beach is a nature reserve, and the landmark St Mary's Lighthouse. The beach is backed by a variety of leisure amenities including a mini golf course, pool, shops and restaurants. Weekend evenings can be wild and the sea front is best avoided if you are after a quiet drink or meal.

Access: Whitley Bay is situated in the north eastern corner of the borough of North Tyneside. It is easily accessible by car from the A19 or by using Tyneside's rapid transport system, the metro, to Whitley Bay station.
