Tynemouth, King Edward's Bay

King Edward's Bay is a small, sandy bay enclosed by cliffs and grass banks. The beach is at the foot of Tynemouth Priory, a historical Abbey run by English Heritage. Although small, the beach is popular with those who want to bathe, surf or simply relax. Nearby is a splendid park, boating lake, SeaLife Centre, toy museum, voluntary life brigade museum and shops. All in all, a great location for a family day out at the seaside. Access: Located to the north of the river Tynes mouth and south of Tynemouth Long sands beach.
