Tynemouth, King Edward's Bay

King Edward's Bay is a small, sandy bay enclosed by cliffs and grass banks. The beach is at the foot of Tynemouth Priory, a historical Abbey run by English Heritage. Although small, the beach is popular with those who want to bathe, surf or simply relax. Nearby is a splendid park, boating lake, SeaLife Centre, toy museum, voluntary life brigade museum and shops. All in all, a great location for a family day out at the seaside.

Access: Located to the north of the river Tynes mouth and south of Tynemouth Long sands beach. Accessible by car from the A19 or by Tyneside's rapid transport system "The Metro" to Tynemouth station.
