Poole, Shore Road

Adjoining Sandbanks Peninsula, Shore Road is a popular sandy beach with an excellent range of facilities and scenic views to the Purbecks. It is popular with younger, more active, visitors but is also used by many families. It has a lively Mediterranean-style café, a beach brasserie and nearby bars. There are good toilet facilities (including those for disabled visitors) and a wide selection of watersports available, including sailing and windsurfing. Sand wheelchairs are also available for the disabled. There is also a marked safe swim zone and a lost children patrol. Lifeguards are on duty from May to September.

Access: Located three miles from the centre of Poole, the beach can be reached by various well signposted routes from the town centre. There is a bus service every 30 minutes during the summer period and good car parking facilities with easy access to the beach.
