New Quay Beach

 

Trath Y Dolau is a small beach located in a very busy and popular seaside town, and is home to one of Wales' most popular sailing centres. There is a good selection of places to eat and drink in addition to plenty of organised tours and walks to go on, the most popular of which are the boat trips to watch the seals and dolphins of the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation. New Quay is a picturesque and internationally renowned village and was once a flourishing shipbuilding center and fishing port.  Dylan Thomas once lived there and it is highly likely that llarregub, the "cliff-perched town at the far end of Wales" featured in Under Milkwood is based on this village.

Access: Turn off the A487 at Synod Inn on to the A486 or at Llanarth on to the B4342 towards New Quay. bus service 550/551, Aberystwyth to Cardigan via New Quay. The nearest town is New Quay.
