Bournemouth, Fisherman's Walk

This feature laden beach is a firm favourite with families. It provides good bathing areas and is easily accessed by means of a cliff lift, cliff paths, or land trains from nearby Boscombe. The beach itself is sandy with some shingle and has no sudden shelves or rip currents. A good range of facilities are provided and the attractive Southbourne Grove shopping centre is situated within easy walking distance from the cliff top through Fisherman's Walk Ornamental Gardens. The presence of lifeguards and the zoning of watercraft away from swimmers, increases safety when bathing.

Access: The nearest major town is Bournemouth. Principal road access routes are the A338 from Ringwood and the A35 from Poole. Rail links with many major towns are very good. Once in Bournemouth, the Seafront Land Train service links all of Bournemouth's beach.
