Bournemouth, Alum Chine

 

Situated at the opening to one of Bournemouth's famous Chines, this beach features a good range of facilities including beach huts, disabled access. It's modern children's play area, and paddling pool, make it an ideal choice for families. The nearby Argyle Tropical Gardens provides an oasis of tranquillity in which to soak up the seafront atmosphere. The beach is gently sloping and sandy, with no sudden shelving or rip currents, providing for safe bathing. Visitors can partake in a wide range of traditional seafront activities. Alum Chine is a level walk, or short train journey, to Bournemouth Pier and town centre. A guided walk leaflet is available from Alum Chine beach office.

Access: The nearest major town is Bournemouth. Principal road access routes are the A338 from Ringwood and the A35 from Poole. Railway communications are very good. Once in Bournemouth, the Seafront Land Train service links all of Bournemouth's beaches.
