West Beachlands West

 

The beach is made up of shingle banks interspersed with sand dunes. Vast sand banks are exposed at low tide. A wide grassy and natural expanse separate the beach from the road. This whole area has been designated a special site of scientific interest. Local shops, cafes and amentiescan be found close by. A free childrens adventure playground, beach volleyball court and skateboard park add to the entertainment. There are also picnic benches, fixed barbeques and boardwalks for use by visitors and residents alike.

Access: Located to the western end of Hayling Islands southern shore. Can be reached by road, or bus, train or the 'Hayling Billy' 5 mile cycle/walk route to Hayling Island. Ferry from Eastney (Portsmouth) to Hayling. For foot and cycle traffic only.
