Aberconwy House, Conwy, Co. Conwy

Dating from the 14th Century, Aberconwy house is one of the oldest dwellings in Wales and has been left remarkably unchanged.

It is also the oldest house in Conwy and was built around the year of 1300. This is Conwy’s last remaining medieval house, with two lower storeys of slate stone and a top storey of timber frames propped on wooden brackets. The interiors have been restored to reflect the changing tastes and fashions of its owners, the dining room is decked out for that of an 18th century merchant-mariner, while the great loft is furnished according to a probate inventory of the mid-17th Century.

The house is accessible from 30th of March until 4th of November daily, except Tuesdays. It opens at 11a.m and closes at 5 p.m.
